The Destination Christian Services, Inc. Board of Directors will open to the public in January, 2008 in search of new members!

The main function of the Board of Directors is to govern the structure of the primary DCS, Inc. non-profit organization.  Many of the individual Board Members serve as staff or Directors of various DCS, Inc. companies - however, the direction of the Board overall is not to govern each individual entity but instead to oversee all official operations of the parent corporation.  Ultimately, the board will maintain 12 members - a fully voting board of 11 and one alternate - possibly a youth.  Members serve a committed term of one calendar year so DCS, Inc. will frequently seek new members as they choose to move on.

Terrance C. Jones - Vice President

Mr. Jones is a professional Actor in the Los Angeles area.  He is also a P2 level Tennis Instructor currently "holding court" at the Balboa Recreational Center in the San Fernando Valley.  In a previous life, Mr. Jones had been known to spin a few tunes, wowing the crowds as a DJ/Emcee for H2H entertainment.  Mr. Jones brings his wealth of creative knowledge and experience to DCS, Inc. and specifically the DCAACC.  Mr. Jones is a Believer, a husband and is the father of a beautiful son of toddler age.

Kimberly DeLaughder - Treasurer (Finance Committee)

Ms. DeLaughder is currently the busy single mother of three school-aged children and a Historical Research Analyst at the University of California at Davis.  Also a Graduate of UCD in  Communication and English, Ms. DeLaughder also is a talented basketball player and vocalist as well.  In her spare time, Ms. DeLaughder enjoys nurturing her children's love of Soccer, Basketball and various instruments, as well as building their faith in God through the Catholic church.

Melynda Brown - Secretary (Education Committee)

Ms. Brown graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with an emphasis in teaching.  Immediately after she began teaching history and English at the Gospel Light Christian school as well as serving as their Guidance Counselor, Curriculum Specialist and onsite Strategic Planner.  Shortly thereafter she transferred to Washington, DC as a Teach For America Corp member, while continuing to earn her Licensure in Counseling.  Previously Ms. Brown attended The Rock Church in San Diego and whenever she finds herself with "free" time she writes, creates poetry, composes music on her guitar and might even practice her 3-point basketball shots.

Alicia L. Bell - Board Member (Finance Committee/Projects Committee)

Ms. Bell attended USC as a Theatre Arts major, then graduated from UCLA with a degree in Economics.  Currently a Payroll Analyst at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood CA, Ms. Bell is responsible for pay roll on many national TV shows.  Ms. Bell is the owner of "Snuggle Fun Blankets" and in her spare time, she makes exquisite and popular blankets for babies, children and adults in all types of styles and themes for every occasion. Ms. Bell's work can be seen in the custom gift baskets sold through Jubilation!, and as ongoing fundraising efforts for DCS, Inc. via our contributions and Events page.

 

Anthony Jones - Board Member

Mr. Jones is a graduate of Illinois State University.  Formerly from Belleville Illinois, Mr. Jones now resides in Los Angeles.  Currently Mr. Jones is the Special Projects Director at H2H Entertainment, however he also has experience teaching and coaching teens in Basketball and Baseball.  In fact, Mr. Jones is quite an accomplished baseball player and in his free time he participates on a local softball league and surfs the local coasts.  He is the proud father of an infant son.

 

	Doretha Hayes - Board Member
Ms. Hayes has been an accomplished teacher and is currently the Principal at a Sacramento Area Pilot Elementary school.  She is a devout believer, attending St. Andrews AME church.  She is a self-taught interior designer and locally renowned "Fashion Diva" who also possesses a beautiful singing voice and an uncanny knack for finding outrageous bargains and rare finds.  Ms. Hayes is the mother of one adult son who is a paramedic in the San Diego and San Bernadino counties.
	Romulus Rodriguez - Board Member
Mr. Rodriguez is a proficient drummer, musician and Christian music composer.  Which means that besides his busy day job as a hairdresser in the Orange County area, Mr. Rodriguez stays busy on the weekends performing, R&B, Rock and cover tunes with his band and serving as the music director at his local church.  Mr. Rodriguez is also the proud father of a handsome teenaged boy and beautiful pre-teen daughter.  It is his desire to open a safe and wholesome dance club for teens in the OC.
	Michelle Alfonzo - Board Member
Ms. Alfonzo is a graduate of Fairfax High School in Hollywood, CA.  Currently Ms. Alfonzo is a staffing clerk at a Medical Staffing Company.  With a long and successful history in retail and sales as a  supervisor, top grossing agent, management trainee and new employee trainer, Ms. Alfonzo looks forward to applying her skills toward her new position.  In the meantime she also hopes to pursue musical production course work at MI and possibly lending her dance and Music production skills to DCS, Inc. fundraisers and special events.  She is the mother of a beautiful baby boy.
	Nykia C. Herron - Board Member (Education Committee)
Ms. Herron is a faithful Christian, dedicated to helping people as her required service to the Lord.  Ms. Herron graduated from the Cal State Northridge school of Kinesiology in order to pursue a career as in Sports Psychology.  She is an avid tennis player, has participated in a 10 mile marathon and is currently learning the game of golf. She looks forward to utilizing her skills and knowledge on the DCS., Education Committee to help minority youth in the desperately needed areas of health and nutrition.
