The bible says to write the vision and make it plain. Here is the vision I have for what it now being called our "Gifts of Life" outreach program:
There is an old "Dollar Theater" that is currently out of business and has been for a few years already. The building is fenced off and the parking lot surrounding it is huge. Other businesses across the parking lot have closed as if the entire back complex will be renovated.
It is my desire to purchase this building - or an old theater building like it - and convert it to house a unique and fresh church
experience. The main theater would be the sanctuary and smaller additional theaters would serve as the children's church and
service nursery and the fellowship hall where services would be played over the theater screen.
The lobby and concession stand
would be converted to a small book store and coffee shop.
During service, members of the church can come, buy a wonderful cup of coffee, bring it into the sanctuary and enjoy their beverage
while enjoying the Word of God.
The structure and doctrine will follow the doctrines of Jesus and of Paul - the only traditional church functions to remain are those which add benefit, structure or enjoyment to the church. It is my desire to remove and/or not incorporate similar traditional church doctrines that are laden with beaurocracy. We will be a teaching and discipleship church, committed to raising and sending LEADERS in the name of Jesus into all the world to continue teaching, preaching and baptizing in the name of our Lord.
My prayer is that this church will be called: "The Gifts of Life Family Church" © Min. D.C. Jones
